Battle Wounds

Now that Ethan has become more confident walking and running, he has been getting more bumps and bruises over the last few weeks than ever before. Yesterday, was definitely the worst though. He was holding a wooden spoon when he fell down. His eye started swelling a bit, but it didn't last long. It got more red over time, but probably looked the worst when it first happened. Poor kid! It broke our hearts to see his cute little face like that and imagining how it hurt. He is a tough kid and only cried for a short time. He probably cries more when we put him down for a nap than when he is injured.
Then, today at church he slipped and scraped his chin on a chair in Sunday School. It made his chin bleed a little. We know that this is only the beginning of things to come!

Do you find that as you finish a big project another one comes at you from nowhere? Yeah, us too. Due to a water valve that accidentally was left dripping, we get to tear out and replace a bunch of sheet rock and insulation in our basement. It has been a week now and our family room is inaccessible to Ethan. It was one of his favorite places to play. We hope that we can fix it all quickly, but of course it had to happen at the end of Kyle's semester while he is busy with final projects and preparing for finals. Yuck!

On a happier note, school is going to be over in a week or so (at least until it starts again in June).

So, did you have a family picture planned? My mom started to just announce it and we'd go right then otherwise, one of us kids got facial injuries! Hope it doesn't hurt for long!

Ryan sympathizes and celebrates with you about the end of the semester! We're all looking forward to summer break!

I'm sorry about your basement! I hope the fix goes smoothly. We had a few little floods in the house that I grew up in (due to rain) and it definitely wasn't the funnest moving furniture out of the basement and tearing up the carpet. Good luck with everything!!
