Bubble Baby

Today we pulled out the bubbles for Ethan to play with. He was more interested in the bubble-blowing wand than the bubbles themselves.

It was still fun to see him get excited about the bubbles though.
Last Saturday, we were hitting the garage sales again, and at the last one we stopped at, they had this cute little play house for toddlers. We put Ethan in it to play while we looked at the rest of the stuff. He had a fun time in it, but we decided not to buy it, since it we figured it would just be a novelty and he would be tired of it in a week. When we pulled Ethan out of it to leave, he started putting up such a fuss that the mom who was selling it told us we could just take it (she was goig to donate it to the DI in a few minutes anyway). Ethan has liked to play with it, but it seems like the novely has started wearing off already...
Ethan's audiologist asked us to buy a cheap pair of headphones and get Ethan used to wearing them so he would be better behaved at our next appointment later this summer. We finally got around to trying them out today, and after just a little bit of resistance, he ended up loving to wear them.
In other news, last summer our back yard grass didn't do so well. We figured we probably had grubs, and treated it this spring to avoid a repeat of last year. Well, this weekend, we were out stirring our compost heap, and found hundreds of them all having a party. We think we chased them out of our lawn and into our compost. We're not really sure if this is a good thing or not. They're probably good for our compost, but it'll be bad if they get into the yard. We're open to any thoughts on what we should do with them...

Our baby is about this big this week.

Oh, I hate grubs, and in May they turn into June bugs and fly around everywhere with no sense of direction. Nasty things. Ethan looks like he had fun with bubbles.

Those are that nastiest little things ever!! Yuck! Good luck dealing with them. You are brave to even get so close to snap the picture.

Timon and Pumbaa survived very well on a diet of grubs... just a thought.
